GVG Corporate Finance Advisors advised Flabeg GmbH on the sale of Flabeg Solarglas GmbH & Co. KG to Centrosolar AG.

FLABEG Solarglas is one of the world's leading suppliers of highly transparent cover glasses for solar applications, particularly for photovoltaic modules (PV) and hot water collectors (WWK).

Customers include all well-known manufacturers, including Sharp, BP, Shell, Total Energie, RWE Schott, Viessmann, and Buderus. In 1998, the team led by Managing Director Ralf Ballasch and Chief Developer Dr. Thomas Hofmann, together with the Fraunhofer Institute and Merck KGaA, began developing a nanocoating based on sol-gel technology to reduce reflections on glass surfaces. This anti-reflective coating significantly increases the light transmittance of solar covers. Currently, at the Fürth site, nearly 100 employees work in continuous, 7-day, 3-shift operation, finishing and distributing approximately 1.5 million m². This resulted in sales of over EUR 22 million for the 2004/05 fiscal year.
